As president of the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association (JWLA), attorney Amelia Henderson organized a “Path to the Judiciary” panel of local judges at its recent monthly meeting.
The program featured circuit and county judges who highlighted the differences between seeking election and being appointed to the bench. They also addressed challenges they face as women in the profession and shared how judges are trained and how they work hard to get it right every time to ensure justice.
The program was well attended by more than 80 individuals at the River Club. The event was also featured in the Financial News & Daily Record.
JWLA was founded in 1982 to provide support and networking for women lawyers in Jacksonville, Florida.
