Colton C. Teal
Associate
Colton Teal is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Team, representing clients in a wide range of high-stakes litigation matters, including commercial disputes and other complex civil cases.
Prior to joining Smith Hulsey & Busey, Colton was an intern for a prominent athlete agency, where he primarily handled NCAA and NFL contractual matters.
As a former legislative clerk in the Tennessee General Assembly, Colton supported the Commerce Committee on labor and employment legislation and assisted the speaker of the House.
Colton earned his J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law, where he was an Ethos of Excellence Scholar. He was also the executive articles editor for the Florida Entertainment and Sports Law Review and chair of negotiation for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team. Colton obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration, summa cum laude , from the University of North Alabama, where he was also a relief pitcher on the NCAA Division I baseball team.
Outside of the office, Colton enjoys following Tennessee sports, calisthenics and fitness training, and coaching amateur baseball.
