R. Christopher Dix
Chris is a technology-focused lawyer and CPA working in the firm’s commercial litigation, sports litigation and healthcare practice areas.
His commercial litigation practice includes litigating business disputes involving contracts, real property, estates and trusts, fraudulent transfers, mechanics liens, corporate control and business entities. He helps to provide cost-effective ways for the firm and clients to reduce costs associated with discovery issues in complex litigation.
Chris’ healthcare practice includes advising clients in the advancement of healthcare technology, from drafting Privacy Policies and Terms and Conditions for medical practice websites to preventing or responding to hacking of electronic health records and other health information.
His sports litigation practice includes advising professional sports governing bodies and investigating and prosecuting professional athletes involved in match-fixing and other types of sports corruption.
Chris has earned the CEDS (Certified E-Discovery Specialist) designation from the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS). He counsels the firm’s clients regarding compliance with e-discovery rules, resolution of e-discovery disputes and solutions for reducing the burden and expense of litigation involving electronic evidence.
Chris also provides cybersecurity and data privacy advice to clients regarding data breaches, cyberstalking, cyber harassment, social media and information governance.
Since 2015, Chris has been a member of the Small Business Resource Network (SBRN). Through his involvement with SBRN, Chris has helped small business clients achieve their unique business goals and growth objectives.
Chris has been named a Florida Super Lawyers – Rising Star for his legal work in electronic discovery.

Representation of a client that suffered a material data breach. Determined the extent of the breach, prepared notices to affected patients, and coordinated a response to state and federal investigations regarding the breach.
Investigation of a client’s former employee’s electronic theft of patient medical records and subsequent use of such records in a competing dermatology practice.
Representation of multi-hospital health system in a Medicare meaningful use audit. Successfully disproved Medicare allegations the physician group practice failed to complete required security risk assessments.
Representation of lenders in a $100 million lien priority dispute with over 300 contractors and subcontractors working on a casino that went bankrupt prior to completion of construction. The disputes involved hundreds of gigabytes of data and required creation of an electronic data depository for production of evidence.
Assisted the four governing bodies of professional tennis (ATP Tour, International Tennis Federation, WTA Tour and the Grand Slam Board) in creating a uniform set of anti-corruption rules, procedures, penalties and investigative processes related to match fixing and other gambling-related activities.
