Firm Chairman Stephen Busey recently moderated the highly touted View From the Bench Bankruptcy CLE seminar featuring all the United States bankruptcy judges in Florida.
Presented annually by The Florida Bar, the View From the Bench is an opportunity for the 18 Florida bankruptcy judges to comment on their recent decisions and discuss publicly how they interpret advancements and nuances in bankruptcy law. The seminar is presented on consecutive days in November in Tampa and Miami.
Steve is one of three members of a standing panel and moderates the event every three years, reflecting Smith Hulsey & Busey?s stature in corporate restructuring in Florida.
Asghar Syed, one of the firm?s bankruptcy attorneys, also attended and assisted in the preparation for the seminar. Asghar?s analysis of all bankruptcy opinions published in Florida in the past year along with national appellate court decisions was instrumental in the CLE program?s content.
