has been named among the 2020 “Women with Heart” by
Volunteers in Medicine Jacksonville
. She was recognized and celebrated at its fourth annual luncheon on February 5.
The “Women with Heart” designated by Volunteers in Medicine are leaders, advocates and key influencers in the Jacksonville community. The luncheon kicked off a year-long series of events to benefit the organization, and each honoree has committed to a month of advocacy and fundraising for the clinic.
Volunteers in Medicine is a free healthcare clinic that provides outpatient primary and specialty medical services to Northeast Florida’s working, low-income, uninsured individuals and their families. More than $1.75 million in medical services are offered annually through the organization’s 100% volunteer staff of physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other professionals.
“We’re proud of Charmaine’s contributions to bettering the health of our community,” said firm chairman Steve Busey. “This initiative is a great example of how we can collaborate with our healthcare clients to promote a healthier First Coast.”
Chiu is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and is chair of the firm’s integrated Healthcare Practice Team. She represents health systems and hospitals, academic medical centers, clinically integrated networks, physician group practices, and other healthcare providers in complex transactions and regulatory matters.
