Smith Hulsey & Busey shareholder Charmaine T. M. Chiu spoke at the American Academy of Pediatrics’ 2025 National Conference and Exhibition on Sept. 27 in Denver, Colorado.
Chiu participated in a panel discussion titled “H0267: Section on International Medical Graduates Program Financial Literacy and Management for Trainees and Practicing Physicians,” focused on physician employment contracts and key considerations when entering or negotiating agreements. She was joined by Joshua P. Carter, a wealth management advisor at Northwestern Mutual, and Bhairav Shah, MD, a pediatric surgeon at Prisma Health – Midlands.
As chair of the firm’s Healthcare Practice Team, Chiu regularly advises providers, physician groups and healthcare businesses on regulatory strategy, operational compliance and risk prevention.
