Smith Hulsey & Busey shareholder Earl Googe participated in a panel at the 41st annual Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management & Patient Safety (FSHRMPS) conference . The firm was proud to sponsor the event once again.
The session, titled “Litigating Through COVID and Beyond,” explored how the pandemic has affected claims, the court system and the overall nature of medical negligence cases. Panelists also presented an update on the COVID-19 Liabilities Protection Act passed during the 2021 legislative session.
Googe is a member of the firm’s integrated Healthcare Practice Team, primarily focused on medical malpractice matters, and he chairs the FSHRMPS Advocacy Committee, which helped lobby for the passage of the COVID Immunity law. He works with a wide range of healthcare clients in a variety of adversarial settings, including before regulatory agencies, licensing boards and peer review panels.
