U.S. News & World Report states that the rankings, presented in tiers, are based on a rigorous evaluation process that included surveys of thousands of clients, lawyers and law firm representatives.
Clients ranked firm practice groups based on expertise, responsiveness, understanding of a business and its needs, cost-effectiveness, civility, and whether they would refer another client to a firm. Lawyers also voted on expertise, responsiveness, integrity, cost-effectiveness, and whether they would refer a matter to a firm and whether they consider a firm a worthy competitor.
The rankings will appear in U.S. News & World Report’ special Money issue in November, and in the 2018 Best Law Firms print publication delivered to 30,000 general counsel and a digital format sent to 60,000 private practice lawyers worldwide.
