Smith Hulsey & Busey is proud to announce the hiring of two new attorneys. David Roberts and Samantha Wood recently joined the firm as associates.
“We’re pleased to welcome these two bright lawyers to the Smith Hulsey & Busey team,” said firm chairman Steve Busey. “Their individual experience and skills are a strategic fit as we continue to elevate our real estate and healthcare practices.”
Roberts advises clients on complex corporate and real estate matters. Prior to joining the firm, he founded his own practice in Nashville focused on corporate and securities issues including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions and securities regulations matters. His legal experience spans a range of industries, from healthcare and manufacturing, to retail and technology. Roberts graduated from Vanderbilt Law School, where he served as the Executive Editor of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law.
As a member of the firm’s Healthcare Practice Team, Wood represents hospital systems, physician groups and other providers in a variety of matters. She graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, and interned with Centura Health, navigating Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA and employment law issues. Wood also served as a law clerk at Children’s Hospital of Colorado and at Hall Render, a national law firm focused exclusively on healthcare organizations.
Their arrival marks a total of five new hires for the firm in 2020.
