Smith Hulsey & Busey associate Kayla Haines Herrin appeared on the Jacksonville Bar Association’s JaxBar Podcast on Dec. 22, 2022.
In the episode, she discussed her role as a transactional lawyer and the tips she wishes she had known in law school.
“Litigators and the general public often think that corporate lawyers may not work the long hours or have the demanding schedules that a litigator might have. Our deadlines are not court appointed, but our client’s deadlines,” Herrin said on the podcast. “We work at our client’s request.”
She also addressed why it’s important for lawyers to be involved in voluntary bar organizations in their communities. Herrin serves as president of the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association’s Board of Directors. She also serves on the Board of the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.
