The Financial News & Daily Record recently published an article regarding Smith Hulsey shareholder Asghar Syed’s public service accomplishments and his impact within the Northeast Florida community.
The article describes Syed’s dedication to serving the Muslim American community in Jacksonville. A native of Pakistan, Syed initiated a nonpartisan get-out-the-vote campaign last year for Jacksonville’s Muslim-American community, complete with voter registration at Islamic centers, phone banking and interfaith gatherings.
Syed is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association Board of Governors and serves on the Board of Directors of Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville.
Syed works in the firm’s litigation and labor and employment practice areas and is experienced in a range of business disputes including fraudulent transfer, environmental and corporate governance litigation. He represents both employers and employees in contract disputes, including disputes over non-compete and severance provisions.
