The Jacksonville City Council has appointed Smith Hulsey & Busey attorney Lauren Langham to the Jacksonville Housing and Community Development Commission (JHCDC). The Commission is the designated housing agency for the City of Jacksonville.
The mission of the JHCDC is the creation of affordable housing as well as the eradication of substandard housing. Ultimately, the Commission seeks to develop and maintain healthy communities.
Langham will assist in the achievement of JHCDC goals which include developing a clear, measurable and meaningful definition of substandard housing; implementing neighborhood action plans to target infill housing as a community development priority; establishing a close and interactive relationship with planning, permitting and zoning functions of the city to facilitate more efficient housing development processes; and creating a marketing and community outreach initiative that promotes housing opportunities.
Langham is a shareholder in the firm’s real estate and land use group and has a comprehensive commercial real estate practice. Lauren’s key practice areas include lease review, drafting and negotiation with an emphasis on retail and office, loan work-outs and restructures, foreclosures, purchase and sale contracts and closings and commercial real estate loan documentation.
