Michelle C. Holder

Michelle Holder is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment and Mergers & Acquisitions teams, where she advises clients on employment matters, corporate transactions, divestitures and more.

Prior to joining Smith Hulsey & Busey, Michelle built a foundation in both litigation and communications. As a clerk for an insurance and defense law group, she supported hearings, depositions, mediations and trials. She also assisted with communications and social media for national brands, as well as the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications. With her background in journalism and digital strategy, Michelle brings strong research, writing and audience-focused communication skills to her practice.  

Michelle earned her J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law, cum laude, where she served as a Staff Editor for the Florida Entertainment and Sports Law Review, and studied in the Netherlands as part of the UF-Leiden International Program. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Journalism and was named an International Scholar Medallion recipient, wrote for The Independent Florida Alligator and was the Director of Marketing for Atrium Magazine.

Outside the office, Michelle can be found traveling, shaping pottery, running with her dog Bunker, and reading with her cat Maveric. She also speaks Dutch.
