After nearly 30 years focusing on bankruptcy and insolvency matters as an attorney with Smith Hulsey & Busey, Cynthia Carson Jackson was sworn in on Friday, June 21, 2013 as a judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Including Jackson, there are nine bankruptcy judges sitting in the Middle District of Florida, which stretches from Jacksonville to Fort Myers.
She replaces retiring Judge Arthur Briskman in the Orlando Division.
Before Jackson was one of 35 applicants for the seat on the bench in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, she represented debtors, creditors, committees, and trustees in commercial and consumer cases at Smith Hulsey & Busey.
