Smith Hulsey & Busey associate Kayla Haines Herrin has been selected as a 2021 “Leader in the Law” by the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL). She was recognized at the organization’s virtual annual meeting on June 22.
The award recognizes FAWL members who have made meaningful contributions in their communities through legal service or volunteer work, and who have provided a positive role model for fellow members. Honorees are selected from a pool of candidates nominated by FAWL chapters around the state.
“Kayla is a dynamic lawyer who is making a name for herself at the firm and in the Jacksonville community,” said managing partner Dick Lewis. “It’s gratifying to see her dedication recognized, especially at a statewide level.”
Founded in 1951, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers strives to propel women lawyers into economic, social and leadership spheres of power.
Herrin is a go-to transactional lawyer in the firm’s business and healthcare departments. She focuses her practice on general corporate matters, including merger and acquisition deals, entity structuring, joint ventures, financing transactions and other business and governance matters. Herrin currently serves on the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association’s Board of Directors as Treasurer, and is a board member of the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.
