Smith Hulsey & Busey shareholder Lauren Langham recently spoke at the 5th Annual Marshall M. Criser, Jr. Transactional Law Seminar where she shared insight on the topic of “Documentary Stamp and Intangible Tax Analysis and Mitigation.”
The seminar was presented by the Transactional Law Section of The Jacksonville Bar Association.
Langham’s presentation focused on the rules governing documentary stamp taxes and intangible taxes and exceptions to the rules. Topics covered included documentary stamp tax on conveyances as well as loans and mitigation strategies.
Langham practices in the firm?s real estate and land use department and has a comprehensive commercial real estate practice covering the Florida markets.
She serves as Florida counsel in multi-state transactions and her practice includes title review and complex documentary stamp and intangible tax analysis and mitigation.
