Smith Hulsey & Busey is excited to announce the addition of two outstanding law students to its 2025 summer associate program: Michelle Holder and Michael Millican.
Holder and Millican will spend the summer gaining hands-on legal experience and working alongside attorneys across a variety of practice areas. In addition to their legal education, they bring diverse experiences — from military leadership and political strategy to journalism and digital media — that will complement the firm’s culture and client service.
“Michelle and Michael reflect the talent, integrity and drive we value in our attorneys,” SHB’s chairman, Steve Busey, said. “We’re thrilled to welcome them and confident they will make meaningful contributions during their time with us.”
Holder is pursuing her law degree at the University of Florida College of Law, where she is recognized on the Dean’s List. She has also been actively involved in student organizations at both UF and the University of Miami School of Law, including the Mediation Clinic, the First Generation Law Association and the Business Law Association. Holder has a strong foundation in communications, having earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a concentration in Political Science from the University of Florida, where she received the International Scholar Medallion.
Millican is also pursuing his law degree at the University of Florida College of Law, where he is involved in the Journal of Law & Public Policy, the Military and Veteran Law Association, and the Servicemembers and Veterans Legal Clinic. Millican is a former judicial intern to U.S. District Judge Marcia Morales Howard in the Middle District of Florida and served more than four years as a U.S. Marine Corps Officer. He also previously worked as a political consultant and digital strategist, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas Christian University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
