Kayla Haines Elected to the JBA/YLS Board of Governors

Smith Hulsey & Busey attorney Kayla Haines has been elected to the Board of Governors of the Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section.

With over 500 members, the Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section (JBA/YLS) is composed of young lawyers who are 35 years old or younger or who have been practicing less than five years.

The YLS Board of Governors provides a diverse array of programs and projects to benefit young lawyers, members of the bar and the Jacksonville community.

As the charitable arm of the JBA, YLS conducts many events throughout the year that benefit local charitable organizations around the city, including its annual Chili Cook-off, which, in 2019, benefited the local chapter of Best Buddies, an organization that offers one-to-one friendship, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Haines has served on the Board of the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association for the past three years and will serve as its Director of Judicial Reception in the 2019-2020 year. Her practice focuses on corporate transactional law, including mergers and acquisitions and general business and governance advice, healthcare transactional law, and business and complex commercial litigation.
