Smith Hulsey & Busey shareholder Jeanne Helton has been selected to the U.S. Leadership Committee for Meritas, the premier global alliance of independent law firms.
Helton will serve a three-year term on the committee, which is composed of 13 members from firms across the United States. In addition to supporting the mission, values and goals of Meritas, the U.S. Leadership Committee is primarily responsible for strategic planning as well as member recruitment, retention and development for the U.S. Region.
Helton has long been involved with Meritas, and she currently serves as chair of its Healthcare Practice Industry Group. Smith Hulsey & Busey is the only North Florida member of the organization.
Established in 1990, Meritas is a global alliance of independent, full-service law firms with the highest quality standards for membership in the industry. Over the years, Meritas has carefully vetted and invited select, like-minded firms to join the nonprofit alliance for mutual benefit.
Today, there are more than 180 Meritas law firms worldwide in over 90 countries. To maintain membership, they agree to perform against Meritas’ uniquely comprehensive Quality Assurance Program, ensuring that clients receive the same high-quality legal work and service from every Meritas firm. The Meritas model provides essential peace of mind for business owners, in-house counsel, and others who can easily connect with carefully qualified, independent business legal expertise worldwide.
