Smith Hulsey & Busey shareholder Meg Heiden has been elected to the Executive Council for the Florida Bar’s Health Law Section. She was recommended by the Section’s nominating committee and confirmed during the Florida Bar’s annual convention on June 10.
Heiden will serve at least one three-year term through 2024, carrying on the firm’s long-standing tradition of Bar leadership and service within the Health Law Section in particular. Smith Hulsey attorneys Charmaine Chiu and Jeanne Helton have each served as previous Chairs of the Executive Council.
“We’re proud of Meg as she takes on this new role and know she will represent Smith Hulsey remarkably,” said Chiu, who leads the firm’s integrated Healthcare Practice Team. “Her nomination will help preserve our firm’s presence as a leader in healthcare law statewide.”
Heiden’s practice focuses on the intersection of healthcare and employment law. With her broad range of healthcare experience, she helps clients avoid or respond to litigation arising from their transactional and healthcare regulatory obligations. Her practical knowledge of the healthcare industry’s nuances allows her to bridge the traditionally siloed litigation, transactional and regulatory practice areas to provide holistic representation that considers all of her clients’ competing priorities.
