James focuses his practice on medical malpractice and complex commercial litigation. He helps physicians navigate some of the most difficult times in their career with a steady hand and the approach of an experienced problem-solver.
While attending law school at the University of Florida, James worked alongside the attorneys in the Self-Insurance Program for the State University Systems of Florida. He drafted memos and conducted legal research surrounding medical malpractice defense for the program, which represents the doctors and nurses engaged in teaching at nearly all of the medical centers connected to the state’s university system.
Prior to practicing law, James served in law enforcement for 15 years. He rose in the ranks of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, becoming a detective, SWAT team leader and, ultimately, the commander of the drug unit, where he supervised all covert law enforcement operations in the county and worked alongside prosecutors as well as state and federal agencies.
James’ law enforcement background gives him a unique perspective as a lawyer. He understands how laws can tangibly affect people’s lives, and he leverages that experience to his clients’ benefit. Outside of the office, James enjoys e-sports and spending time with his family.
