Justin M. Robinson

Associate

Justin Robinson is an experienced transactional attorney, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, tax law, corporate governance, financing transactions, joint ventures, real estate, and other commercial and transactional matters.

With his background in tax law, Justin provides comprehensive support throughout a transaction’s process. An entrepreneur himself, Justin understands his client’s goals and his ability to align transactions to meet those goals with an emphasis on tax strategy and savings.

Before joining Smith Hulsey & Busey, Justin was associated with the Miami office of a major international business law firm. He represented private equity firms in a wide range of middle-market financial and strategic acquisitions, focusing primarily on deal structure, corporate, financial, and contractual due diligence, and deal maintenance through the coordination of specialist attorneys and business teams.

Justin previously served as an extern at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Tax Division (Appellate Section) in Washington, where he extensively researched the Internal Revenue Code and supported senior DOJ attorneys defending U.S. District Court appeals to various tax matters.

Justin received his J.D. from the University of Florida’s College of Law and his Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.), where he graduated at the top of his class.

Justin grew up in the Jacksonville area, and when he’s not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and outdoors, particularly hunting and camping.
