Margaret G. McQuiddy

Associate

Maggie McQuiddy is a dedicated lawyer who utilizes her business background to be an empathetic advocate for her clients. Her practice focuses on bankruptcy, labor and employment, commercial litigation, and sports litigation and counseling.

As a former two-time Smith Hulsey & Busey summer associate, Maggie assisted the firm’s litigation and transactional attorneys with legal research and writing across several practice areas, including commercial litigation, mergers and acquisitions, environmental law, healthcare, and real estate.

Maggie received her J.D. from Tulane University Law School. She earned a master’s degree in international business and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Florida.

During law school, Maggie coached Tulane’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Moot Court Team, helping them win the California Sports Lawyer Negotiation Competition in 2023 and solidifying her interest in sports litigation. As part of her experiential coursework, she worked closely with Judge Meredith S. Grabill of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Maggie also completed a pro bono externship with the Innocence Project New Orleans as a member of its Unjust Punishment Project team, where she conducted legal research to support wrongfully incarcerated people with their appeals.

Maggie grew up in the Jacksonville area and is grateful to practice law in her hometown community. When she’s not in the office, she enjoys attending concerts, reading books, cooking and traveling. You can often find her spending time with her family and her dog, Leo.
